Instruction for use Audental Ultra SLM Powder

 

Intended Use

Audental Ultra is cobalt based alloy intended for production of removable partial dentures restorations in laser sintering machine, Please refer to the operating instructions of the system manufacturer.The powder is class IIa medical device in accordance with annex IX rule 8 of the MDD 93/42/EEC. Composition corresponds to “type 5” CoCr dental material according to ISO 22674.

Design the upper removable partial denture with a minimum thickness of 0.7 mm. For minor connectors use a diameter of 1.2 x 1.8 mm. For the sublingual bars of a lower partial denture, a diameter of 4 x 2 mm is recommended. Take care of adequate material thickness on clasps.

 

Thermal treatment

After the laser sintering process, the building boards have to pass heat treatment to minimize stresses due to the laser sintering process. For this purpose,a suitable furnace with inert gas (argon) or vacuum function should be used. Stress relieving without inert gas atmosphere can optionally be performed.Please consider that a treatment without inert gas atmosphere can lead to an increased oxide formation. Heat up to 1000°C with inner gas within 45 mins to keep 30 mins, then take out and let cool down freely in ambient air.

 

Remove Parts from the build plate

Removal of restorations from platform: After stress relieving and cooling down of the platform, remove the parts from building platform using band saw, rotary cutter or pliers. Remove the remains of the supports using pliers.

 

Preparation before ceramic veneering

The frameworks can be elaborated with standard carbide cutters, look for smooth transitions and avoid overlapping material. Please use the same cutter for one alloy to avoid contamination. It´s recommended that he frame needs to be sandblasted with aluminium oxide 125µm and 3-4 bar to remove the present oxide layer thoroughly. In the end the cleaning by steam cleaner is mandatory. If you use a ceramic bonder please consider the instruction for use of the manufacturer.

 

Contraindications and side effects

If the instructions are observed during the production processes, incompatibilities with non-precious dental alloys are extremely rare. In case of a proven allergy against an ingredient of this alloy, the alloy must not be used for safety reasons. In exceptional cases, electrochemically induced, local irritations have been reported. When different alloy groups are used, galvanic effects might occur.
